Pennsylvania Act 129
Pennsylvania Act 129 was passed in October of 2008 by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Comission (PUC). It requires Pennsylvania's seven major electric utilites to reduce the consumption and demand levels of their customers for energy over the next three years. The legislation required each of the major utilities to produce plans to meet their reduction requirements. The electric utility companies are now offering opportunities for customers to cash in on rebates and other incentives.
