Utility Bill Analysis

Recognizing that "what gets measured, gets managed", the Energy Resource Center offers utility bill analyses (UBAs) to local governments to assist them to identify and then manage their energy use and associated costs. Using simple spreadsheet software, the ERC tracks all of the municipality's monthly utility bills over the most recent two-year period. The ERC then analyzes the energy use, and recommends specific actions for municipalities to take to reduce their energy use and costs.

The ERC provides the UBA spreadsheets to municipalities to enable them to track and manage their energy consumption and costs.

Past participants in SEDA-COG's Utility Bill Anaylsis Program say:

“The Utility Bill Analysis provided by SEDA-COG’s Energy Resource Center is an excellent service. Seeing an enormous amount of data on simple charts and graphs enabled our municipality to understand how much we spend on energy and where we spend it. The ERC’s analysis and energy assessment helped us to identify and prioritize specific opportunities to significantly reduce energy costs. We can now develop an energy management plan thanks to the cost-tracking tool provided by the Energy Resource Center.”
