This guide is a primer for local government officials, code officials, engineers and solicitors on Solar Energy Systems.
 
PA Sunshine Program
The PA Sunshine Program for Solar PV IS OPEN to recieve grant applications. The solar thermal portion of the program is expected to open by the end of the week of May 18th. Created to help small businesses and homeowners install solar PV or solar thermal units, funding will be distributed in the form of rebates. Applications cannot be filled out by the homeowner or small business; they must choose from a list of approved contractors who will fill out the application for a specific project. $100 million has been made available throught the Commonwealth as well as through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  

Solar Energy Installers Directory
This directory, developed by St Francis University's Renewable Energy Center, provides information about firms installing solar electric, hot water, and thermal technologies across PA. Links on this site include directories of installers of wind, geothermal, biomass, and hydro projects.
 
Dave Shimmel presented on Pennsylvania incentives to stimulate advances in the Pennsylvania solar market at the PA Solar Conference held in State College in May.
 
The American Solar Energy Society (ASES), a national organization, is dedicated to increasing the use of solar energy, energy efficiency, and other sustainable technologies in the U.S. This site offers information about how people can access solar resources, get involved in advancing solar energy nationally, and learn more about both solar energy and green jobs.
 
Florida Solar Energy Center's mission is to research and develop energy technologies that enhance the nation's economy and environment and to educate the public, students and practitioners on the results of the research. This site contains in depth information to help consumers, educators, researchers, and industry-leaders better understand today's most current information about solar energy.
 
This document, developed by the Renewable Energy Policy Project (REPP), outlines a "PV Roadmap" for the US, the results of an industry led effort to assess the best mix of research and market development to accelerate PV development.
 
This website provides links to eduction programs geared for those attempting to become certified to provide PV solar and thermal solar development.
 
The Technology Review published this article which takes observations from the German wind power industry, the leading wind industry in the world, and applies interpretations of these observations to applications of solar and wind alternatives in the US.
 
TRF provides financing for solar and wind alternatives as well as for building green and retrofitting energy efficiency projects.
